Welcome to CharityHikes

My name is Simon Coates, and between 11th September and 11th October 2020, I took part in a team challenge where, collectively, we walked, ran and cycled the distance between London and Damascus, raising money for Clowns Without Borders UK. For my part in the challenge I walked just over 200 miles in the month and, having caught the hiking bug, once the challenge was completed I began thinking about what I could do for an encore.
The first challenge I decided to embark upon was to, between 1st March and 31st October 2021, walk 2000 miles (an average of 250 miles per month) in aid of sixteen charities whose work is close to my heart. I will be posting mileage and fundraising updates, and maps of the walks I complete, on the Hikes page.
How to make a donation
If you would like to support me in my challenge, please visit the Charities page where you will see a list of the charities I am supporting. Once you have found a charity you would like to support, please click the Support button next to that charity, and you will be redirected to the online fundraising platform being used by that charity. If you would like to support more than one charity, please repeat this process for each additional charity. Thank you very much for your support!
